This week we interviewed an up and coming Game Designer from the States; DC.
DC is working on an adaptation of Blades In The Dark, called Mutants In The Night. It’s got some really interesting themes of community. And looks at many of the experiences of non dominant social groups; with a focus on African American, and Queer communities.

We also talked about DC’s game dev origin story, and the intersection of Martial Arts and Rap music. (more…)

[The Deep Forest] Fae

CW: Violence, corporal punishment, kidnapping, colonialism.

We did a crossover of sorts recently. We had Lachlan from Fantasy Cartography on the show to play a little bit of The Deep Forest with us. It was a blast!
For those that are unaware, The Deep Forest is a collaborative map drawing game built off of The Quiet Year. It’s about communities reestablishing themselves in a postcolonial world. The hardships they face, and how they overcome them. Our game feature some violence, and a few absurd jokes; but we still played to the subject matter, so just be aware that it might be a bit emotional for some.

Good Society Interview

We had Vee and Hayley on the show to talk to us about their new Jane Austen RPG, Good Society. It’s got some really interesting setup mechanics that help you tailor the game to your groups style.
It was a pleasure catching up with them again. If you’d like to talk to them about all they have going on, why not head to Ettin Con? Vee and Hayley will be there running games.

Three Boys In A Barina 2: Boys Go West!

It’s the return of a special event. Bigger, better, and broker.

Over the next 10 8 days the hosts of the Crusading Couch, and the fine managers of [insert quest here] will be venturing into the Australian outback.

Wilfred, Kim, and Raymond will be driving, walking, riding, and swimming their way to Broken Hill the outback. Along the way we’ll be trying to complete a scavenger hunt, an Easter egg hunt, a wombat hunt, and probably some other kind of hunt as well. We’ll be making daily posts to our facebook page, and to twitter; and you can follow our journey there.

Now this unfortunately means there will be no new podcast on Monday(the 29th of March.) However, when we return we’ll have daily travel logs, and a massive haul of photos to share with you all.

We hope you’re all as keen as we are.
Farewell from the past; Raymond, Wilfred, and Kim.

Cards Against Humanity: First Blood

We recently had a few game nights in our neck of the woods, lots of board games and card games were played. We managed to record of few of them.
This is one right here, Cards Against Humanity; it’s way different to the things we normally play, but it is good, wholesome, outrageous, racist, disgusting, ball slapping, shit eating, fun; WITH A CAPITAL F!

If you enjoyed this please share it with others, sharing is the best thing you can do to help grow the podcast!
