Matthew Corrin and Morgan Lean have a kickstarter running right now for their new game, Bodycount. Bodycount is a hyperviolent cyberpunk roleplaying game, with a focus on dealing harm to anyone that stands in your way.
We sat down with Matt to have a chat about the game, what spurred it’s creation, and what influenced the designers.
Ellery, Caitlyn, Sofi, and Ray got together to playtest a bit of Angel Project.
Angel Project is an upcoming RPG from the folks behind Magical Fury (find more of their stuff here.) You play potential members of an elite fighting group. And through the course of play become armed with special armoured fighting suits. It takes some elements of the magical girl genre and blends in more sci-fi elements, military hardware. For us a key touch stone was Bubblegum Crisis. (more…)
We did a crossover of sorts recently. We had Lachlan from Fantasy Cartography on the show to play a little bit of The Deep Forest with us. It was a blast!
For those that are unaware, The Deep Forest is a collaborative map drawing game built off of The Quiet Year. It’s about communities reestablishing themselves in a postcolonial world. The hardships they face, and how they overcome them. Our game feature some violence, and a few absurd jokes; but we still played to the subject matter, so just be aware that it might be a bit emotional for some. (more…)
We had Vee and Hayley on the show to talk to us about their new Jane Austen RPG, Good Society. It’s got some really interesting setup mechanics that help you tailor the game to your groups style.
It was a pleasure catching up with them again. If you’d like to talk to them about all they have going on, why not head to Ettin Con? Vee and Hayley will be there running games. (more…)
Guest GM Lex come on to run us through our first game of Night Witches. Night Witches is an RPG by Jason Morningstar about Russian World War 2 bomber pilots, in an all Female unit. It’s about the struggles they faced, the horrors they endured, and brave acts they performed.
For this episode we had an all lady group of players, including a whole bunch of new people. (more…)
We got the gang together to play Magical Fury again. This time we used the Scene structure the game lays out that we kinda ignored last time. It was actually pretty fantastic and ramped up the speed of play even further.
In this week’s episode we share with you how we created the setting for our Blades in The Dark campaign, using a map drawing game called The Quiet Year. After we finished up the game Fin went and listened through the whole episode, extrapolating changes, and cutting the fat until we had a nice consistent setting. Then he drew us a kick ass map! We hope you all enjoy this look at a cool little thing we did.
It’s the last episode of Blades In The Dark; of course the players don’t know that.
The Spectres are breaking into prison to break someone out of prison…and oh my, the prison is Bedlam. A warren of impetus infused restraints, cells, locks, and doors. Wardens with strange other worldly power. A space void of light, hope, and peace of mind.
We brought back a very special crew of players to try out a really silly micro rpg; Escape From Triassic Park! In this game you play as genetically re-engineered dinosaurs; trying to escape an amusement park you’ve been trapped in. Sofi, Ellery, and Caitlyn came along to try this out with Ray.
