We took another look at Mars Colony, this time Ray was Kelly Perkins. We also used some strange political factions. Enjoy.
Ben is a Maltese-Australian game designer with a background in video game design; but he also makes RPGs. We had him on to talk about his history, his process, and some of his games. It was a blast and we can’t wait to play Ben’s stuff.
If you’d like to see more from Ben, he’s provided us with a list of links!
A Duo is a conversational LARP for 2 players created by Ray Cox.
In A Duo the location you play in will inform your setting. Allowing you to pick from a list of playsets.
Ellery and Ray recently playtested some of the scenarios.Audio quality is a bit all over the place but we learned a lot by playing.
The finale of our adventures in Monsterhearts, for a little while at least.
We had a discussion about our feelings on the game at the end of the episode rather than write up reflections; cause this was a short campaign.
No new episode of the podcast on the 28th, as we will be on vacation.
This week we take a look at the school life of our boys, and deal with the fall out from the cliff top party.
A reminder that there will be no early episode on the 25th, and no podcast episode on the 28th.
This week Vic, and Adam go to a party, and this get a bit full on in a game of Truth or Dare.
There will be no new episode on the 28th as we will be on holiday.
This is the session Zero and session One of our short Monsterhearts game. The session zero includes discussions of what elements we want to look at, what themes we want to deal with, and what we want to avoid. We talk about racism, sexism, and violence. We discuss safety tools.
Session One begins on in a dorm room, in a boys only boarding school, on an island. And the actually recording starts at 1h and 50m.
This week we explore the difficulties of fixing someone else’s mistakes, difference of morality, family stress, and the complexity of building a new world.
This is Mars Colony, a two person RPG by Tim C Koppang.
This episode was recorded in a rather resonant space, but shouldn’t be a problem to listen to. We hope you enjoy listening to this Two Person RPG.
We were asked by Burning Games to play their new game about the colonisation of America by monsters who ride into war on dragons. It’s meant to be a game that deals with issues of exploitation and prejudice but honestly; I don’t think they take a hard enough stance.
We had fun playing the game, so I hope you enjoy listening to us fumble our way through temples, and jungles, and strange monsters. This was the first time we’d played a card resolution RPG on the show as well, so enjoy that. (more…)
A mission recorder has been pulled out of a quarantined space station. A group of scientists watch the XP, searching for clues as to what happened to the mission that went into the zone.
This is an Eclipse Phase scenario that I wrote as an intro game. One of the players microphones was a little glitchy, but it’s not too much of an issue.
