Eclipse Phase: Fast Extraction.

This week we’ve got a nice short Eclipse Phase scenario that i just sort of whacked together. It’s a Martian Train heist, to kidnap a Jovian VIP. there are some references to our eCOPse phase games(new one in may).
If you’d rather watch the live stream than listen to it, you can find it HERE.

This is only the second game I’ve ever run online. I’ve played in a couple of online games lately and it removes some of the scheduling issues of a normal in person TTRPG run. This was probably the most linear scenario I’ve ever run, and the shortest; in spite of that i kinda loved it. I hope to run more online games in the future.

If you want to play in one of our online games: like us on facebook, follow us on WordPress, Soundcloud, and Twitter. I’ll try and run an online game every month, and they will be announced on those platforms…maybe we should do a mailing list as well?

Farewell from the past, I’m Raymond.

  1. So first thing’s first, I loved this one shot. There is something immensely satisfying having a problem, research it, prepare for it and carry it through within a limited time frame (kinda like the Sprawl, in that regard). Just competent characters in general is very fun to listen to. I suppose for a longer campaign the dynamic is different.
Kim actually in the postgame mentioned he didn’t know what he was supposed to do in the prep, so mileage may vary when it comes to that aspect, but I personally really enjoy it.
It’s just that Firewall is full of people in varying states of falling apart because they are always on the front lines. Corp security/mercs on the other hand are usually not slowly going insane due to the stress of their job, which is a nice change of pace. Sometimes you just want the transhumanism of EP, and not the horror.

  2. Interesting. I really like the preparation phase of heist-style games, but I guess it’s not for everyone, and could often use some leads provided as starting points.
